Dr. Jeffrey Gladd graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2001. He then went on to train in family medicine for three years at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. After completing his residency, Gladd started a family practice that encompassed full spectrum care, including obstetrics, in Columbia City, Indiana. In 2007, he joined Parkview Medical Group to continue his family practice.
In 2006, after the birth of his second child, Gladd evolved his professional and personal focus to health through nutrition. By educating himself and applying the principles of whole foods eating, he lost 50 pounds, and reveled in an improved energy and mental clarity. Increasing doses and adding medications was no longer acceptable. Gladd delved into his patients' lives-how they ate, how they managed stress-and discovered real health care.
Gladd was accepted into the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine fellowship program for the class of 2009. He will officially become board certified in holistic medicine in the fall of 2008. Gladd will assume a position as medical director of the Parkview Medical Group Center for Integrative Medicine in summer 2008. Here he will offer holistic care to patients interested in optimal health and the management of current issues through nutrition, stress management and mind-body medicine.
"The PureHealthMD movement is a personal and passionate one for me. Our holistic health philosophy, teamed with a vast online audience, is an exciting collaboration with endless potential. Most sites offer some advice, with the masked intent of persuading you to buy products. What was born out of a small idea, to provide vitamin information through a Web site, is now a movement, PureHealthMD.
The opportunity to promote optimal health is amazing. I have to thank my God, who continues to open doors to allow me to use the talents He blessed me with to reach people in ways I never thought I could. I hope this message rings loudly and that we play some role in the health care of this world."
Gladd lives in Columbia City, Indiana, with his wife, Neely, a nurse practitioner and their three children. He enjoys running, biking and fishing. He finds no better place than being at home with his family.
